Huntington Library

Hello everyone! On Sunday I went to the Huntington Library in Pasadena with my parents and let me tell you... That place is beautiful~ They had everything there: art, plants, history, architecture, statues, and good food. What more do you want in life?

Everyone was taking pictures of bees pollinating so I thought I should too.
The tropical rainforest observatory center.

I went to the Desert Plants area first, which had huge cacti. I never realized how tall they can get. Then I made my way to the Japanese Gardens. It felt like Edo Japan, or how I imagine it to be like. Looking at all the different bonsai made me want one myself, but I heard they're very hard to manage. After the Japanese Gardens, I went to look at art, which always gets me excited~ There were a lot of Greek-inspired architecture around the premises and the European art was mostly from the Greek, Roman, French, and Italian age. There was also American modern art and historical art. I recognized one illuminated manuscript I learned in class which was The Book of Hours, so it was pretty awesome seeing something I've learned in person. It was also cool seeing the original "A Single Man" manuscript. I've seen the movie, but have never read the book. It's a brilliant and beautiful movie, really. The rainforest observatory had to be one of the greatest things there. It was so humid and moist, I felt like I was in a real rainforest!

We went to Old Town Pasadena for dinner and I stopped by the AA store and MAC and picked up a little something.

The Huntington Library is great for all you art and shrubbery lovers! I had a great time in LA and hope to stop by there again. As always, thank you for reading~

IMATS LA 2013

Hello, hello! Sorry for disappearing (again), I had such a busy couple of months and was also getting sick in between, but I'm back! Last Saturday, I went to IMATS LA, whoo~ And it was actually my first time there, so it was pretty overwhelming because you're basically in a convention center room with thousands of other people, breathing the same air as everyone, brushing against strangers, there's stuff everywhere, and so many things going on all at once. My eyes were literally darting everywhere!

LA Union Station
Roshar's presentation
He was body rolling when I snapped a photo LOL
Bunny (grav3yardgirl)
Jen (frmheadtotoe)
IMATS was a really great experience; although I spent more than I would have thought ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Right when I walked into the IMATS showroom there were half-naked men with washboard abs throwing free make-up brushes into the crowd! I managed to successfully nab myself some (〜 ̄▽ ̄)〜  I talked to many amazing people and learned some new make up tips and tricks. I was also so ecstatic that I finally got to meet two of my favorite YouTube bloggers in real life!!! Bunny and Jen were both as cool and nice as they are in their videos~ Discounted make-up, of course was also a huge perk, he he he (・㉨・)ノ There was this stage area where professional make-up artists do looks on the models. My personal favorite was Roshar! I loved seeing him create a chic extraterrestrial look on one of the models. He had a really bubbly and fun personality which made his presentation even more enjoyable. I wish I remembered to bring my dslr so you can really see how beautiful his look was, but I was in such a rush in the morning to get to the train station (≧0≦) After IMATS, I went to this ice cream parlor called Scoops, which specializes in "unconventional ice cream flavors". I had the jasmine tea + honey flavored ice cream. Jasmine tea and honey is a great combination, and tastes even better as ice cream~

Final thoughts on IMATS: Everyone should definitely go~ Make-up lovers would have such a blast and even if you're not that interested in make-up, I guarantee you would be walking outta there with a couple of things~

Black Friday Haul

If you cannot already tell from the title, this will be a Black Friday haul + some pictures of what I did this weekend~ I was really pleased with this year's Black Friday, even though it was outrageously crowded. There were people everywhere, it felt like Disneyland... minus the dancing people in costumes. Anyway, I was really pleased with what I got this year! I felt like I grabbed more practical items rather than just random junk. I now think about how much use I would get out of an item before I just impulsively snatch one and buy it.
Starting from the top left going clockwise: Topshop cropped top, Topshop cropped turtleneck, UO maxi skirt, H&M organza circle skirt
The two basics from Topshop were a bit of a splurge, but I felt like I can really get some good wear out of them! Thus, getting my money's worth he he he~ One fabric I'm really loving is organza, it gives off a really fun and festive vibe, just in time for the holidays! And knowing me, of course I'm going to get black everything. I've always liked dressing monochromatic, so I was really pumped when I saw that dressing monochromatic was actually "in" this Fall! Now people won't look at me like I'm just a big blob of dark colors LOL

Starting from the top left going clockwise: F21 white button up, UO graphic tee, UO socks, H&M hair cuff, UO choker, F21 pleated skirt (I now have bacon socks to go with my egg socks ^_^)
It's no surprise that I bought socks, right? I actually bought two other pairs, but I forgot to include them. But I'm telling you, socks really do make an outfit! They bring the flair to your feet! And they're also a great conversation starter ^_~

UO Daria tee
You did not know how I excited I was when I saw this Daria tee!!! It's one of my most favorite shows and the last episode was so bittersweet... I couldn't think of a better way to end the show! I wish MTV brought something similar to "Daria" back on their channel, instead of all these ridiculous reality shows...

The ever coveted UNIF Hellraisers~ from Solestruck
And that's most of what I bought this Black Friday! Along with some other small bits and bobs.

My friend Hilary and I were famished so we went to Mitsuwa to dine! And I took some pictures there just for funsies.

It's so hard going to Mitsuwa without wanting to buy something because there are so many beauty products!!! I just want them all... u_u

Christmas stuff gets me so jazzed... Just look at my face... LOL
I then had to go to a wedding the day after Friday and it was a pretty fun. There were little goody bags and a photo booth! And the food was impeccable~ The bride and groom danced to Psy's "Gangnam Style", it was so cute ^_^

My mum and I~

I can definitely say that I had a wonderful Thanksgiving break! I got a lot of sleep, I got to see my sista, Hilz Lu, I bought some new attire, and ate and ate and ate! It's probably too late to say this but I hope every one of you guys had a great Thanksgiving break with your friends and family too

Itty Bitty Mini Spring Haul

So basically... I got a job at my mom's shop, it was Mother's Day, I wanted to TREAT MA SELF, I had money to spend, and a F21 coupon code. Yeah. Anyways, I hate how I always buy the same damn thing every-freakin'-time! I either buy black, white, gray, or coral colored items. "Hey, I think I'm going to buy another lipstick!" What color do I buy? CORAL. "Hm, a new blush would be nice." What color? CORAL. "I kinda want to buy new clothes." WHAT COLOR? Ding, ding, ding, you guessed it! I need to venture out of the whole black and coral color spectrum. Wear a little bit of blue or green. Speaking of the color green, I just realized... I don't have any green clothes!!! Well, maybe one. But ONLY one! Oh, and if you were wondering that name of that lipstick, it's called "Coralberry". Let me just tell you, this color is such a gr8 dupe for MAC's "Vegas Volt"! I was so gutted when I lost my "Vegas Volt" lipstick and I'm just too lazy to drive to the mall and buy another one. So when I saw "Coralberry", I thought, "This looks interesting! *insert thinking face here*"

TL;DR: I like spending money. I always buy similar things to what I already have. I am obsessed with coral. I bought a new lipstick.

F21 lace shirt | floral shorts | DIY flower headband

Here is an outfit I wore last week and never posted because I'm such a lazy sloth... Can you believe that I've had those shorts since the 6th grade and I still fit them?!?! Crazy... right?
